Quiet Diary
Diary app for Android

A private diary app you can talk to

Talk to your diary. It remembers for you.

Hold the button and say how your day went. Quiet Diary keeps the recording and, when you want, turns it into text that still sounds like you. Add photos and tags, and see what you wrote on this day in past years. Everything stays on your phone.

Just talk

Say it out loud. Get your own words back.

Some days you don’t feel like typing. Hold +, talk, and let go — the voice note is saved. Tap “Transcribe” and the AI writes down what you said, then tidies it: paragraphs, punctuation, and the “um”s and “like”s taken out. It does not polish your style or add anything you didn’t say, and you can switch back to your original words at any time.

  • 3 voice notes a day for free, up to 1 minute each
  • Your original recording is always kept
  • Writing by hand works just as well

On This Day

Open the app and meet last year’s you

At the top of the home screen, Quiet Diary shows what you wrote on the same date in earlier years. A small card, one line of your own handwriting-style text, and a tap to read the whole entry. If you’d rather not see it today, close it; you can also turn it off in Settings.

  • Grows richer every year you keep writing
  • A tear-off calendar header with the season of the day

Your days, laid out like a scrapbook

Add up to nine photos to an entry; location and camera details are removed when you add them. Tag entries like #work or #matcha, then tap a tag to see only those. Switch the home screen between a calm list and a collage view that lays your words and photos side by side.

  • Photos, tags and both views are free
  • Search all your entries on the phone, offline

Your diary lives on your phone, encrypted

Entries, photos and recordings are stored only on your phone in an encrypted database, with the keys kept in Android’s secure keystore. You don’t need an account. Nothing is uploaded unless you tap Transcribe or Tidy on a single note — and then only that one recording or that one piece of text, which our server does not keep and nobody uses for training.

  • No ads, ever
  • No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs

Questions people ask

Is Quiet Diary free?

Yes. Writing, photos, tags, the collage view and On This Day are free, with 3 voice notes a day. Pro is an optional one-time purchase for unlimited voice notes and extra styles.

Does the AI write my diary for me?

No. It only writes down what you said and tidies it: paragraphs, punctuation and filler words. It doesn’t add content, judge your mood or chat with you.

Can anyone else read my diary?

Your entries are stored encrypted on your phone. We don’t have a copy. When you transcribe a note, that one recording passes through our server and is not kept.

Which languages does it support?

English, 日本語, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 한국어, Deutsch, Français, Español, Português and Italiano. You can talk and write in any of them.
